Proxima & Company embraces the future: ESG training for integrated consulting

Authors: Andrea Natali, Joana Ndreu, March 2025

In the contemporary business landscape, sustainability is no longer an option but a strategic necessity, both for companies that are directly impacted and for those, like us, who provide consulting to address major business challenges.

The recent European directives CSRD and CSDD are indeed radically transforming the business landscape, making sustainability reporting a significant challenge for an increasing number of companies

For Proxima & Company, the 'ESG Management' course offered by Sole24Ore and the Università Mercatorum represented a unique opportunity to acquire the necessary skills on sustainability topics: not only basic skills, useful for a comprehensive understanding of the inherently complex subject, but also advanced skills that are extremely in line with the latest developments. Recently, updates on regulations and their effects on companies have been extremely frequent, inevitably leading to confusion and the need for clarity.

An opportunity to seize, therefore, to start training internally through a 60-hour training course spread over weekends and thus compatible with work commitments. The lessons are taught by internationally renowned university professors, high-profile industry professionals, sustainability pioneers, and Sole24Ore journalists, whose participation enriched the content with an up-to-date perspective on markets, regulations, and a critical view of the issues addressed.

The course awards a certificate of attendance and, particularly relevant, 40 training credits necessary to access the certification exam as a Sustainability Manager or Sustainability Practitioner, according to the UNI/PdR 109.1:2021 reference practice. This certification, recognized by Intertek, represents an important professional recognition in the field of sustainability, as it offers concrete tools to tackle the ongoing ESG revolution in the business world.

The program is structured into four modules covering all aspects of sustainability, 'from cradle to grave,' ranging from the more technical/legislative ones aimed at integrating sustainability into the company to the communicative ones.

For Proxima, developing the ability to empathetically understand the ESG challenges that companies are facing represents a fundamental strategic upskill. This will allow us not only to consolidate our position as a reference point in the sector but also to create new collaboration opportunities by integrating vertical consulting on sustainability topics alongside our technological expertise, which has always been Proxima's core business.
